THE FIRST CITY OF THE NEW WORLD
Built in 1502 by Nicolás de Ovando and declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO in 1992, the Colonial City of Santo Domingo was the first city in the new world. Walk through its streets and immerse yourself in the rich history of the city, the first settlement of Christopher Columbus on his arrival in America.

Pickup 8 AM
You will be picked up from your hotel/ location area in Punta Cana and be driven to the Colonial Zone.
You will visit the Columbus Palace. Completed in 1514, it was the home of Christopher Columbus’ son, Diego. From the palace, the group will walk through the historic Plaza de España and onto Calle Las Damas, the first paved street of the New World. The ultimate destination is one of the most important sites in the Dominican Republic: the first cathedral of the New World, Cathedral de Santa Maria La Menor. With the tour to Santo Domingo, you’ll experience the city’s rich history and the daily life of everyday Dominicans in their capital of 3 million inhabitants.
You will visit Pantheon, the Ruins, Museums, and all religious patriotic monuments. (Lunch is not included, but we have to tell you the restaurants around the Columbus house are excellent) Or be transported to our favorite restaurant in all of Santo Domingo, with authentic Italian food you will love.
End your day with some shopping in Santo Domingo in one of three malls.
After ending your evening our drivers will be waiting to take you and your group back to your hotel/location.
